Hefner Recognized as 2017 MSBA North Star Lawyer

Bill Hefner has been named a 2017 “North Star Lawyer” by the Minnesota State Bar Association.  Each year, the MSBA recognizes members who have provided 50 hours or more of pro bono legal services.  Bill provided over 55 hours of free legal services last year to four different juvenile clients as a volunteer attorney for the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota.  Staff and volunteer attorneys for the Children’s Law Center provide legal representation to children who are either wards of the state – “legal orphans” – or have been removed from their homes because they are in need of protection. CLC also represents foster children who request help. Bill has been a volunteer CLC attorney since 2004.
