Jeremy Greenhouse honored as North Star Lawyer for 2020 pro bono work

ELG congratulates attorney Jeremy P. Greenhouse on being recognized as a 2020 “North Star Lawyer” for providing over 50 hours of legal services last year to low income individuals at no fee.

Jeremy has focused his pro bono work on low-income housing matters, including advising and representing tenants at Hennepin County Housing Court through Volunteer Lawyers Network and assisting the nonprofit City of Lakes Community Land Trust with various housing matters. ELG Sponsors and Hosts EI’s Environmental Innovation Award Presentation

ELG attorney Jeremy Greenhouse chaired a session of the Environmental Initiative‘s online annual awards celebration today honoring the 2021 winner of EI’s environmental innovation award category, an award ELG is proud to sponsor. This year’s winner is a amazing collaborative project: a community solar garden built and developed by minority business enterprises on top of a mattress recycling facility in Minneapolis that employs recently incarcerated people trying to reenter the workforce.

Ken Podpeskar Elected to MSBA ENRE Council

ELG partner Ken Podpeskar has been re-elected by his peers in the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Environmental, Natural Resources and Energy Section to serve as a member of the Section’s Governing Council. Ken concentrates his practice on compliance counseling, spill reporting and remediation, Superfund cleanups, property transfers, and solid and hazardous waste issues.

The ENRE Section’s purpose is to facilitate the exchange of information and ideas among Minnesota lawyers active in the practice of environmental, natural resources, and energy law, and to educate members of the Section with respect to current issues in those areas.  The Section’s Governing Council is responsible for developing and implementing the Section’s various educational offerings, internship programs, and initiatives.    Ken’s fourth two-year term as a Council member will begin in July 2021.
