ELG attorney Jeremy Greenhouse was featured April 29, 2019, as a guest commentator for the Minnesota Litigator blog. Jeremy opined on the April 22, 2019, decision from the Minnesota Court of Appeals regarding the Minnesota Environmental Rights Act and the Public Trust Doctrine in the high-profile lawsuit against the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources over water levels in White Bear Lake.
ELG attorney Jeremy Greenhouse will be hosting a panel discussion on “Minnesota’s Wild Rice Journey” at the 2019 Minnesota Environmental Institute, Thursday, April 11, 2019, and the Minnesota CLE Conference Center. Minnesota adopted a sulfate water quality standard for the protection of wild rice, harvested by Ojibwe for millennia, in the 1970s. This standard has sparked intense scrutiny, with numerous attempts at rulemaking, legislation and litigation. Panelists Peder A. Larson, Paula Maccabee & Adonis A. Neblett will discuss their experiences on the wild rice journey and answer Mr. Greenhouse’s questions.
On November 15, 2018, ELG attorney Jeremy Greenhouse will be a featured speaker at the Fall Meeting of the Minnesota Groundwater Association. Jeremy’s talk is titled, “Does the Clean Water Act Regulate Discharges to Groundwater? An Examination of Recent Case Law on the “Conduit Theory.” The conference will take place at the Continuing Education and Conference Center, University of Minnesota, St. Paul.
